Don't freak out. It'll be okay. You got experienced parents there to help you out - grandparents are a great blessing. Plus, you got, what, 5 months to go? Plenty of time to prepare yourself. You're reading "What to Expect," right? It's a great book. Be sure to pick up the "What to Expect: after the birth" edition.
Anything else you need help with, just ask - but you already knew that... ;)

What are you freaking out about? When the time comes, your instincts will kick in and you'll know what to do.

I'm not a father, but...here's a quote from the greatest Father ever.."Bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord"....we know what nututing is, but I looked up "admonition".....it means to forewarn..... to let them know--if you do this--be sure that "this" will happen.....just as the KAW IF GRAVITY....so is the way of reaping what you sew, it's God's pre-designed plan....it works to correct us when we are wrong....warning is an act of great love....to show them both paths that they can choose and draw a clear picture of what happens at the end of both, then when they are older....they have the ability to choose for themselves.

The ONLY thing you really need to know, daddy, is....Seek God First.....and all the other things will be added unto you....

Something happens when the kid(s) start arriving, and you just learn to cope. I was scared to death of kids before Mia & Noah arrived, but when you know you're their daddy, you'll do anything & everything to protect & care for them.
Peace & Blessings

ok...so this is late. I haven't checked my google reader in some time. By the way, Leona is about 4 weeks or less behind Leah...yeah...#2 is on the way and we still haven't announced it to anyone at our church. We think it would be funny to see who asks "Are you pregnant?" first, and then to say no! lol...
ok..ok...advice about the "girly parts doctor." Yeah, my wife made me come with her to her checkups. The best advice I can give is to get used to it. It's the warmup to the "big day" - if you know what I mean. One practical advice is to do as little talking during the "checkups". I'm not going to go into detail, but I think I said things that were embarassing to my wife while the doc was doing his thing, and I got in big trouble. I thought I was trying to be funny and lighthearted about it, but I really just came of like I was really uncomfortable...which I kinda was.
Also, if you want to get some sleep once the baby comes, you have to pick up the book Baby Wise. It's on my blog. By week 8 our kid was sleeping through the night as well as my sister in law's 4 kids, and my pastor's 3 kids. Don't let people tell you that sleeping through the night is totally dependant on your child's personality. It's a lie.

just try not to kill it.
Seriously though, that's all my wife and I could think about. "How are we not going to kill this little, fragile thing?" Turns out, they are pretty tough little creatures!

So... boy or girl?

as far as the birth goes...all you need is some warm water and some towels.
Make sure you yell "Go fetch Doc Gibson" and then go pace in the barn.
Sorry, I've been watching too much Little House On the Prairie.
